Enrichment

enrichment sample

Would you like the opportunity to take part in some competitive or recreational sporting activities, or perhaps strengthen your application for teaching by working in main school or primary education?  Does the idea of learning sign language or perhaps being able to make tasty and exciting meals on a budget sound like a great idea?  At Ossett, we offer you the chance to do all of these things – and more besides!

Life as a student at Ossett Sixth Form College involves a stimulating mix of study and enrichment activities.  Enrichment provides scope for you to develop existing interests or indeed try new ones for the first time. Our enrichment programmes involve extra-curricular activities, which you can tailor and alternate to accommodate your needs.

WHY IS ENRICHMENT IMPORTANT?

We know that getting into your chosen university isn’t easy and that many courses are oversubscribed.  The same is true when you are looking for the right job opportunity; competition is something you will always be up against.  At Ossett, we want to ensure that you leave us with the best possible profile of academic success and additional skills that put you ahead of the game.

Ask yourself the following questions:

Would you like the opportunity to spend time doing something you enjoy and maybe trying something new?

Would you like to pick up skills that will help add another dimension to your personal statement or CV?

Do you want to have more to talk about on your personal statement, or at interview, than just your academic subjects?

Do you want to impress university administration tutors or your potential future employer?

Yes?  Then enrichment is for you.

WHEN WILL IT TAKE PLACE?

Enrichment takes place on a Wednesday afternoon every week.  There is enrichment fair within the first few weeks of college where students are given the opportunity to select the activities that they would like to take part in.  We think that our enrichment programme at Ossett is of great value, and therefore a commitment to at least one enrichment programme is required.
